DOP/PDO SEAL - Denominazione d’Origine Protetta | Protected Designation of Origin
Created by the EU, DOP ensures that your favorite cheeses, fruits and vegetables, salumi (cured meats), balsamic vinegars, and olive oils are all grown, produced, and packaged within a designated zone and according to tradition. Every step, from production to packaging, is regulated.
This mark separates Parmigiano Reggiano DOP from parmesan cheese, San Marzano dell'Agro Sarnese Nocerino DOP from regular tomatoes, and Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP from the thin balsamic condiment you might drizzle over a salad.

IGP/PGI SEAL - Indicazione Geografica Protetta | Protected Geographical Indication
Created by the EU, "PGI (in Italian IGP) is awarded to agricultural products and foodstuffs closely linked to the geographical area. At least one of the stages of production, processing or preparation takes place in the area."

DEMETER
Demeter’s “biodynamic” certification requires biodiversity and ecosystem preservation, soil husbandry, livestock integration, prohibition of genetically engineered organisms and viewing the farm as a living “holistic organism”. The certification verifies the fulfillment of the standards on behalf of the farmers, which in turn guarantees high quality food products to the consumers.

The Biodynamic Federation Demeter International is the largest certification organization for biodynamic agriculture, and is one of three predominant organic certifiers. Its name is a reference to Demeter, the Greek goddess of grain and fertility. It is a non-profit umbrella organisation with 46 members organisations in 36 countries around the world, representing both the global biodynamic movement and the Demeter certified biodynamic farms. The organization incorporates 19 certifying Demeter organizations, and the rest of the certification is done by the international certification committee. The Demeter Biodynamic Certification is used in over 65 countries to verify that biodynamic products meet international standards in production and processing. The Demeter symbol was introduced and registered as a trademark in 1928, and as such was the first ecological label for organically produced foods.

This mark is displayed on products that are clearly defined as gluten free on their packaging.

KOSHER
This mark is displayed on products that are clearly defined as  Kosher on their packaging, within their product specifications and/or has a Kosher certificate. Kosher approval can only be obtained by a rabbinic Agency.

SOY FREE
This mark is displayed on products that are clearly defined as soy free on their packaging.

NON-GMO
This mark is displayed on products that are clearly defined as Non-GMO on their packaging or already meet USDA Organic or Demeter standards which require products to be Non-GMO.
